Tara Bennett

Tara is a maker, drawn to craft since childhood. A trip to Japan in 2013 changed everything. She fell in love with the country's deep respect for craftsmanship, the patience behind every process, and the stories each handmade object carries. She returned home and founded Provider Store, spending more than a decade building relationships with artisans across Japan and Australia, designing products, hand-pouring candles, and creating spaces that celebrate thoughtful living.

Daniel Sammut

Dan is an award-winning brand designer who loves the art of visual storytelling. Having launched his first design studio at the age of 21, he's spent nearly two decades running an independent practice, building brands for founder-led companies across hospitality, fashion, retail and tech. He's a dual Australian and Italian citizen, which explains his love of food, travel, and the way both bring people together. When he's not building brands you'll find him exploring Europe, seeking out the design-led stays worth travelling for.

Provider Studio is a hospitality branding studio, led by Tara Bennett and Daniel Sammut. We shape how a place is seen, felt, and remembered. Provider Studio began the way most good things do. Slowly, and out of love.

You may know us from our other ventures. Provider Store, where we create and source pieces for the home. Provider House, our design-led stay that taught us how to craft a memorable guest experience, and has been featured in Qantas Travel Insider, The Local Project, and The Design Files. And For Good Design Lab, our brand studio. Different ventures, one thread: slow down, and focus on what matters.

Between us, two decades of building brands, and a lifetime of seeking out the places worth travelling for. The small hotels, the quiet restaurants, the bars you stumble on and never forget, the little stores that make you want to bring the memories home. We've always been drawn to places with a point of view, and to the people patient enough to build them.

We started Provider Studio to bring our shared experience to hospitality, helping design-led hotels create brands that build desire before guests arrive, and stay with them long after they leave.

Provider House

Provider House is proof that thoughtful details create unforgettable stays.

What began as an empty shell, over the years it became something much greater than a place to stay. Every decision was intentional. We thought about how the house should sound, smell and feel, creating an experience that felt instantly comforting while still sparking a sense of curiosity and discovery.

We partnered with Japanese scent house @aroma to develop a bespoke essential oil inspired by Provider House and its surroundings. It blends the scent of the Australian bushland that drifts in from the foothills of kunanyi / Mount Wellington with warm Japanese woods, evoking the calm of stepping into a traditional onsen.

That philosophy extended to every detail. Our hand wash was created to capture the scent of a Japanese bathhouse, so after soaking in the handcrafted cedar tub, even washing your hands became part of the ritual. Individually, these details are small. Together, they create an experience guests remember long after they've left.

What we noticed after opening the house was that guests would want to take that feeling home. Throughout their stay, they discovered the objects, scents and rituals that surrounded them and began purchasing the very products they had been using — from candles and hand wash to ceramics, towels and homewares. Provider House became more than accommodation; it became a new way of blending hospitality and retail. Every stay became an opportunity to experience the products before taking a piece of that feeling home.

Who we work with

We partner with people creating places that leave a lasting impression. Design-led boutique hotels, guesthouses and hospitality spaces that believe every detail matters, and that every place should hold a point of view all the way through.

We work with those who want to create something different, not by following trends, but by crafting guest experiences with intention. Places where atmosphere is everything, and nothing is left to chance. Places that surprise, comfort and inspire. Places guests remember, recommend and return to.

If you're looking to move beyond standard amenities and create a stay with its own identity, we'd love to help you bring that vision to life.

The places we stay, the places we seek out, and travel to often. We bring that lived experience to every project.

Building Brands

Your brand is the first experience a guest has with your stay, often months before they arrive. It shapes who books, what they expect, and ultimately what they're willing to pay.

A great brand starts with a great story. We begin yours with the place itself - its architecture, surroundings, history and the people behind it. When we uncover what makes your place special, we build an immersive world guests can step into. A world that captures the feeling of being there, and is felt before arrival.

To us, a great brand isn't just a logo or a colour palette. It's every touchpoint a guest encounters. The tone of your website, the photography, the menu, the welcome note on arrival - every interaction should tell the same story, so nothing breaks the feeling between discovering your stay online and walking through the front door.

For nearly twenty years, we've built brands across hospitality, retail, fashion and technology. Today, we're bringing that experience to boutique hotels and accommodation providers who want to create places people don't simply visit — they remember.

Designing Scents

Scent is one of the most powerful tools in hospitality, yet it's often overlooked. It has the ability to transport us, evoke emotion and quietly shape the way we remember a place.

When we create a signature fragrance, we don't begin with trends or popular perfume notes. We begin with the story. We look for something unique to the space, its surroundings, its history or the people behind it. The goal is never to create a scent that dominates a room. Instead, it should sit gently in the background — noticed without being obvious, becoming part of the atmosphere rather than competing with it.

The best scents become memory triggers. They remind guests of how they felt in a place long after they've left and become something they want to bring into their everyday lives.

To us, a signature scent is more than a fragrance. It's another layer of storytelling — one that guests can't see, but will never forget.

Paramount House Hotel's limited-edition candle burning in reception.

Paramount House Hotel

For Paramount House Hotel, inspiration came from the building itself. They wanted a candle that reflected the playful character of their iconic pink elevator while capturing the subtle room spray guests encounter throughout the hotel. Working with notes that performed beautifully in natural soy wax, we developed a limited-edition candle that is burned in reception, becoming part of every guest's arrival. Many leave not only remembering the scent, but taking it home with them.

Akitsu Ryokan

When Australian founder Nikita moved to Japan to open Akitsu Ryokan in Shiga, she created a place that bridges two cultures. We developed a signature room spray blending Australian wattle with fresh tatami, evoking the calm of a ryokan. Used throughout the stay, it continues downstairs in Akitsu's café and shop. For us, that's where hospitality and retail meet. A scent becomes part of a place's identity, and a guest leaves with more than a memory, they leave with a way to revisit that feeling, wherever they are.

Signature Scents

Alongside bespoke scent design for our clients, we craft the signature scents behind our own candle and aroma range for Provider Store. The same care, the same instinct for what a place should feel like, brought home.
